Turv is the troll prince of Troll Mountain.

History[]

Early History[]

As a young mountain troll, Turv was entranced by one of the high-born she-trolls, Graia. He begged his father to let him marry Graia and the two were betrothed. However the Troll King made Turv agree to wait until he was of mature age to marry Graia.

As a prince, Turv enjoys a lot of leisure time and spends his day drinking and eating with his friends. He often encourages his friends to challenge each other, or some of the worker trolls, to mortal combat on the fighting platform.

Troll Mountain (Episode I)[]

When the dragger Düm learned of their forthcoming wedding and how upset Graia was as the prospect of marrying Turv, he went to Turv to ask that he not marry Graia and find another she-troll. However this made Turv furious, and challenged Düm to a fight on the Fighting Platform, however Düm instead fled from Troll Mountain. At this, Turv sent several warriors to pursue and kill him.

Troll Mountain (Episode II)[]

On the day of their wedding, Raf was caught trying to steal the mysterious disease's elixir, and the Troll King decided that he would be his wedding gift for Turv and Graia to feast upon.

Shortly after Graia was brought into the Great Hall for the ceremony, Düm returned with a human prisoner to recompense his leaving to the King. However the Troll King decided to let Turv determine his fate, and, knowing he would need to appear benevolent to have his people's approval in the long run when he ascended to the throne, Turv agreed to forgive Düm's crimes. Soon though, Raf overheard Turv telling his cronies to have Düm taken to the Fighting Platform later, where he would fight and kill the dragger for his insolence.

Once the ceremony for the wedding started, the Troll King called for anyone to object to the marriage to do so. Unexpectedly, Raf challenged him to a fight, delaying Turv and Graia's marriage.

Troll Mountain (Episode III)[]

While Truv was engrossed in watching the battle between Raf and Grondo, Graia slipped away with Düm without the troll prince noticing. Soon Raf began following a plan laid out by Ko, killing Grondo and swinging back onto the mountain before moving to steal the elixir. With Düm having blocked their way up, Turv was among the many furious trolls who tried to intercept Raf as the boy moved to steal the elixir again.

After Raf blew up Troll Mountain's supports using Ko's firepowder, causing it to collapse, Turv was the only troll who managed to survive, having just outrun the crumbling mountain-peak. Enraged and driven to insanity by the loss of both his home and would-have-been kingdom, Turv quickly set out to claim vengeance upon Raf, tracking him to the Northmen Tribe's village.

Turv burst into the village, interrupting the festivities that were being held for Bader, who had claimed to have been the one responsible for the destruction of the trolls' home. As the troll prince bellowed his desire for revenge, Timbuk pointed out Bader, only for Turv to reveal Bader's lies and cowardice to the cowering villagers (inadvertently helping Raf by doing so). As soon as he set eyes on Raf, Turv lunged at him, throwing brutal-but-wild swings at his home's destroyer. The troll prince's rage made his attacks sloppy, however, and soon Raf managed to grab Turv's bone sword from his belt and stabbed him through the eye, killing Turv instantly.

Personality[]

The Troll King has a number of sons, but Turv is his eldest and strongest. He fully expects to get his own way and has no tolerance for anyone who speaks against him, such as Düm when he protested his marriage Graia. Turv is clever enough to know that he needs a good reputation to rule effectively, pretending to absolve Düm publicly when he presented gifts for forgiveness, but intended to go back on his word and secretly kill Düm later. Turv usually tries to be careful about who he fights, but he has a fearsome temper and often challenges people in the heat of a rage.

Skills[]

  • Troll Physiology: Like all trolls, Turv has a typical thick grey troll hide that is hard to penetrate, short legs and a large upper body, and a long snout and tusks. As with the majority of trolls, Turv is almost twice the size of the average human, especially since he is almost as tall as Grondo. In spite of his large size, Turv can be surprisingly quick.
  • Skilled Combatant: Turv is a strong fighter and likes to fight with a large hammer, though he prefers to only pick fights against weaker opponents. Additionally, whenever he is incensed, Turv's fighting skills become less refined and more wild, which in turn makes things more difficult for him.

Equipment[]

  • Battle Hammer: A war hammer which is Truv's preferred weapon of choice in a fight. However, whenever he is enraged, Turv becomes sloppy with his swings, making it hard for him to hit his targets.
  • Bone Sword: A blade made from a sharpened human leg, which Turv kept on his weapons belt. When he attacked Raf, the human took the sword from Turv and used to stab the troll prince fatally through the eye.

Trivia[]

  • Turv is taller than the average troll, although Grondo is slightly taller than him.
  • Turv has the tusks of the high-born and a typical troll physique, except that he enjoys wearing fine red robes.
