A Teleporter is a device capable of transporting someone or something from one place to another, even across galaxies.
History[]
Contest[]
First built by an unknown race of sentient beings long before humanity became self-aware, the teleporter was made to transport people and objects across the universe. Who actually designed the teleporter first is not mentioned, though the Guide race behind the Presidian are a likely candidate. By the present day, teleporters were apparently being used by most of the sentient races involved in the Presidian, such as the Malonians, for their own uses.
Since the first Presidian, the guides of the contestants were sent via a teleporter to their assigned contestant's world to pick them up, and then use a teleporter on that world to continue on to the labyrinth. In addition, the guides wore a small teleporter on their caps, which at the contestant's command would open a small "window" teleport to a viewing area for the Presidian's officials to confirm the death of another contestant.
As there were no teleporters on Earth when the human race was first considered intelligent enough to participate in the Presidian, the selected contestants were remotely transported by a teleporter located on another world to the labyrinths of the fifth and sixth Presdia.
Prior to the beginning of the seventh Presidian, the Malonian Bellos desired victory so much that he decided to bring his Hoodaya with him to assist in the hunting of the other contestants, despite it being against the rules. When it came time for him to be teleported into the labyrinth; Bellos knocked out his guide once he had entered the labyrinth's co-ordinates into the teleporter, and had an ally prepare another teleporter to send them one by one to his location. Once all of the hoods were transported, Bellos' ally would then teleport another teleporter to the labyrinth so that Bellos could send the hoods back to their world to avoid them being discovered after the Presidian was over.

Attributes[]
Teleporters are highly advanced pieces of technology designed by an alien race, used to transport beings or objects across the universe in moments. There are at least two types of teleporter; the first is an enormous machine resembling a "high-tech, steel-sided telephone booth" with a door, which appear to be the standard for transporting beings and objects. If this type of teleporter is located in an area lacking any or an unsubstantial power source, a portable generator can be used to power it.
In order to transport someone in a teleporter, the user must have the exacts coordinates of both their current position and their intended destination. Once activated, the object is enveloped in a bright, spherical light within the teleporter chamber, which then vanishes from the teleporter and then appears at the target area, taking a few seconds to materialise. Anything not fully within the sphere at the moment of transference is cleanly severed off, making it dangerous for living beings.
The length of time it takes for a object or living thing to materialise after being sent by a teleporter at its destination depends on its size and mass; a single hoodaya, owing to its small size, only takes two seconds to materialise; a sentinent-being of apparent average size like a human or Malonian takes between six to nine seconds; and a large object such as another teleporter can take upwards of 30 seconds to materliase.
The second type of teleporter is a smaller-scaled version of the standard teleporter, which is not used for transporting persons/objects, but rather seems intended to provide a viewing point for someone else. The teleporter is small and light enough that the Presidian guides wear them on their heads like a hat. Once their contestant says "initialise", a small sphere a foot wide will open, providing a visual for the judging station at the other end, and can then be closed with the word "cancel". The sphere created by this teleporter is only able to provide a view of the other side; sound cannot pass through it.
