Selexin is a member of the Guide race, assigned the role being the guide of Stephen Swain in the seventh Presidian.

Early HistoryEdit

Born to the unnamed race referred to only as Guides, Selexin grew up learning a vast array of facts regarding the sentient races of the known universe, as well as his own.

Under unknown circumstances, Selexin was selected to serve as a guide to one of the seven contestants of the seventh Presidian, which he knew was a great honour. However, when he found out he would be serving as the guide for the human contestant, Stephen Swain, Selexin was dismayed due to the fact that in the previous two Presidia humans had competed in, they had been defeated easily, and believed that his death was almost certain.

When the time for the Presidian arrived, Selexin was teleported directly into the labyrinth on Earth, while Swain would be remotely teleported to his position.

  • Cosmic Knowledge: As a guide to a Presidian contestant, Selexin possesses an extensive knowledge of many of the sentient races of the universe, presumably in preparation for the Presidian and not knowing which contestant he would be paired with. His knowledge spans from knowing details about other species' biology, their habitats and societies. However, due to humanity's lack of interaction with other sentient races, Selexin knows only the basics about humans.
  • Multilingualism: Selexin is fluent in speaking English in addition to his own, and presumably some of the languages of the other sentient races. Selexin claims that learning to speak English was easy for him since English has only 26 letters in its alphabet while his own has 762 symbols, and that the only issue he had was figuring out idioms.
