When their respective book and album promoting tours happened to convene again in San Francisco, it provided an opportunity for the "thriller writer" and "rock princess" to reunite in their hotel's restaurant.

At an unknown time either before or after the President was inaugurated, Charles "Caesar" Russell arranged for fifteen Type-240 warheads to be placed at several major civilian airports in major cities in America's northern states, one of which was situated in San Francisco. The warheads were programmed to detonate should a satellite receiving a signal from a device on the President's heart stop transmitting.
During the broadcast to issue his challenge to the President, Caesar revealed the locations of the warheads to the President, including the one in San Francisco, and how his own beating heart would keep them from detonating.
Ultimately, Caesar's coup failed, and once the satellite transmitting to the warheads was destroyed, the warheads were disarmed by military forces and relocated.
Scarecrow[]
Shortly before mid-2003, the "billionaire's club" Majestic-12 decided to enhance their overall fortunes, and began planning to initiate a new Cold War, which their individuals businesses would benefit from and improve their wealth. Deciding to utilise a pair of top secret American projects known as Kormoran and Chameleon, which involved disguised battle tankers and clone missiles respectively, M-12 could make several western countries believe they had been hit by terrorist missiles.
As M-12's plan began to take shape, the Kormoran ship MV Jewel, stationed in the San Francisco Bay, was surreptitiously loaded with Chameleon clones of North Korea's Taep'o Dong-2, which would launch missiles targeting Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco itself. Seeking aide in defending the Kormoran ships if they came under attack before the Chameleon missiles could be launched, Jonathan Killian made a deal with five African nations, who would deploy troops onto each ship in order to defend them. As a result, Eritrean troops were stationed onboard the MV Jewel as soon as Majestic-12 took control of the ship.
Though the Mossad agent Benjamin Rosenthal was killed before he could share what he knew of M-12's plan with Shane Schofield's allies, Book II was able to collect several of his notes, and he and Scott Moseley discovered what M-12 had planned for the San Francisco-stationed Kormoran vessel.
Since Shane Schofield was the only one who could disarm the CincLock-VII security system, the President dispatched Andrew Trent and his unit to collect David Fairfax and take him to San Francisco so that he could provide a satellite uplink from the Kormoran ship to enable the Marine to abort the launch. Despite the resistance from the Eritrean troops, Fairfax and the Marines were able to reach the missile control panel, allowing Fairfax to provide Schofield with a satellite uplink that enabled the Marine to abort the launch and save San Francisco.
The Great Zoo of China[]
During her career as a herpetologist, CJ Cameron worked at the San Francisco Zoo, where she briefly dated one of her colleagues, Ben Patrick. After an incident in the Florida everglades where she received several scars on the left-hand side of her face from a saltwater crocodile, CJ transferred to the San Francisco Zoo's veterinarian department. Following another incident in China, CJ resigned from the Zoo and relocated to Australia.

Prior to 2016, David "Nobody" Black established his oceanography lab in San Francisco, where he also moored his state-of-the-art submersible support vessel and mobile lab, the Betty White.
During one of Jack West Jr's visits to his daughter Lily while she was attending Stanford, they and Alby Calvin visited Nobody at his lab to see his latest work.
Interceptor[]
During the planning stage to destroy the United States, Russian terrorists chose San Francisco as one of their targets. Once Alexander Kessel and his mercenaries had taken control of the SBX-1 interceptor platform in the Pacific Ocean, they hacked the Emergency Broadcast System and began televising events across America, announcing San Francisco as one of their 16 targets. Fortunately, Captain JJ Collins was able to foil Kessel's plans and destroy all of the terrorist missiles mid-flight, saving San Francisco from annihilation.
