Believed to be the King of Troy in Greek mythology, Priam was in fact a Royal Banker for the Four Legendary Kingdoms.
History[]
The One Impossible Labyrinth[]
During the rule of the Four Legendary Kingdoms during ancient days, Priam was a servant of the group, and later was granted the role of being their Master of Coin, the royal banker. As a result, the honourable Priam was entrusted with managing and storing the large collection of treasures and artefacts acquired by his masters during their secretive rule, keeping them within the vault of Troy on Tenedos Island.
Priam fulfilled his task well enough that he was granted his own crown, though this would become misinterpreted in Homer's The Odyssey and The Iliad, which portrayed Priam as the King of the city of Troy, not the royal banker in charge of a vault.
Somehow, a clue to the hiding place of the long-lost Orphean bell became known to Priam, which he had inscribed on his crown. When a highly-detailed 50 foot statue was made in Priam's likeness, it included the inscription on his crown. This statue would late be kept in the vault of Troy with the other relics belonging to the Four Kingdoms.
Because Homer's two works were later seen as mythological stories, history came to forget that Priam was a real person, though the ongoing Legendary Kingdoms would remember him for his honour and his work.
Priam's crown would be destroyed in a fire along with several other artefacts at the King of Land's Welsh hunting estate in 1871, leaving the only existing copy of the inscription written on it to be on the gigantic statue of Priam stored in the Troy vault. Meanwhile, the Catholic Church would acquire a scroll that hinted that the Orphean bell could be found through the inscription on Priam's crown, though they apparently never attempted to pursue it.
By the present day, the giant statue of Priam remained intact within the vault of Troy, which Iolanthe Compton-Jones was quietly awed by when she visited the vault during the reception of a royal wedding held there.
While seeking out the location of the Orphean bell, Iolanthe, Bertie de Montreuil and Nobody discovered an ancient scroll in the Lake Albano vault that revealed the location of the bell was inscribed on Priam's crown. Knowing that the crown itself had been destroyed, Iolanthe realised that their only chance to find the belt lay in the copy in the form of the statue of Priam, and so the trio set off to infiltrate the vault of Troy.
While Chloe Carnarvon was initially unaware of the destruction of Priam's crown, she soon learned uncovered the truth and sent some of her people to the vault of Troy to examine the statue's crown on her behalf.
Iolanthe, Nobody and Bertie soon arrived at the vault of Troy to examine the statue of Priam and its crown. Before they could do so, Chloe spoke to them through hidden speakers to taunt that her people had already come and gone after reading the inscription before having explosives her people had laid out set off. While Bertie kept the detonation switch suppressed to keep it from exploding, he ordered Iolanthe to quickly examine the inscription on the statue of Priam's crown. Once she had done so, Iolanthe and Nobody heeded Bertie's advice to flee through a passage hidden while Bertie sacrificed himself as the semtex went off, causing a huge explosion that engulfed the vault of Troy and destroyed many of the priceless artefacts inside, including the Priam statue.
