Nikolai is a mercenary working as part of Alexander Kessel's team to take down the SBX-1 interceptor facility.
History[]
Early History[]
Under unknown circumstances, Nikolai became a mercenary and joined a team led by Alexander Kessel.
When the team was contracted by a Russian terrorist to help take down several U.S. cities with nukes, Kessel and the team began working on a six-year long plan to hijack the SBX-1 missile interceptor platform in the Pacific Ocean and allow the terrorists the chance to fire upon America. Eventually, Nikolai - along with the rest of Kessel's team - were able to get onboard SBX01 under the guise on being janitors for the facility.
Interceptor[]

As the mercenaries made their move to execute the staff onboard SBX-1 and take control of the command center, Nikolai and Kira joined the firefight in the corridor adjacent to the command center. As they opened fire on Captain JJ Collins, Kessel ordered his people to grab Lieutenant Colonel Marshall's key-card to ensure they could access the command center, with Nikolai and Mikael moving forward to do so. As they approached Marshall's body, Collins shot a nearby gas canister, causing a small blast that threw the two mercenaries against the wall. Nikolai received a small wound over his left eye and was stunned by the blast, recovering after Collins had sealed the blast doors and killed Mikael.

Still needing to breach the command center, Nikolai and Kira retrieved some blowtorches and began using them to cut through the first door, briefly halting as Kessel threatened Captain Lou Welsh's life, but continuing even as Kessel tried to bargain with Collins.

After half an hour, Nikolai and Kira finished cutting through the first blast door, and the pair joined Kessel in proceeding to the second door. Fortunately for them, they did not need to use their blowtorches again, as Corporal Beaver Baker regained consciousness, disabled Collins and Corporal Rahul Shah, and opened the door for the mercenaries. Nikolai helped Baker tie Collins and Shah to some chairs and then stood by as Kessel began broadcasting the mercenaries' intent to the people of America and ordered the first missile be fired at Los Angeles.

Collins soon managed to get loose, however, and as she began grappling with Kessel over his gun, Nikolai tried to position himself to shoot Collins. Before he could get a clear line of sight, Nikolai was killed by a hail of bullets as Kessel's gun went off, his body falling to the floor. During the brawl between Collins and Kira, the former used Nikolai's body to shield herself from Kira's gunfire.
After the fight, Collins checked to see if Nikolai's gun, still gripped in his hands, was working, but found it had been damaged, and the mercenary's body was left in the command center throughout the remainder of the incident.

Trivia[]
- There is a continuity issue regarding the wound above Nikolai's eye; while one would assume he had received it following the blast in the corridor, the wound and blood are absent for the few shots showing Nikolai's face up until his arrival in the command center where they inexplicably appear.
