Mortimer Island is an island in the Bristol Channel which houses a US Naval base.
Fictional History[]
The Six Sacred Stones[]
During World War II, Mortimer Island was used as a submarine repair and refueling station by the U.S. naval forces. Once the war was over, the British allowed the United States to continue using the island as a U.S. base.
By the early 21st century, Mortimer's K-10 submarine base was classified as a Level Alpha base which primarily stored missiles for submarines.
Once the Coalition of Minnows team, having achieved its objectives to rescue Max "Wizard" Epper and "Tank" Tanaka, claim the Philosopher's Stone and record the interaction between the Firestone and the Altar Stone of Stonehenge, the CIA attache Paul Robertson arranged for them to reunite at Mortimer Island's naval base. Vulture arranged for his people to bring his family's Pillar to Mortimer Island and Robertson did the same with Iolanthe Compton-Jones of the British Royal family and their Pillar.
However, Robertson also informed Wolf of the meeting location, so that the CIEF commander could watch the proceedings from another part of the base via the security network.
Once everybody had gathered, they adjourned to the laboratories to cleanse the two Pillars they had, go over the Stonehenge data for the Vertex locations and determine the Pillar-laying dates from the Killing Stone of the Maya.
Once this was done, Jack West Jr led the team from Mortimer Island to lay the first Pillar at Abu Simbel, while Tank, Lachlan and Julius Adamson were to remain at the naval base to see if they could determine the next Vertex's location. After the Coalition team had departed, Robertson went to discuss things with Wolf, and, unbeknownst to everyone, Tank contacted the Japanese Blood Brotherhood to order them to stop the team and to pick him up.
Shortly after the first Pillar had been set, the Blood Brotherhood assaulted Mortimer Island's base, killing some of the stationed troops and retrieving Tank and the Adamson twins.
