Mark Skaife is a professional hover car racer belonging to the General Motors Factory team.
History[]
Hover Car Racer[]
Under unknown circumstances, Mark Skaife joined the hover car racing team of General Motors, quickly becoming a prominent racer in the professional circuit.
One year, Skaife took part in the New York Masters, first putting in an appearance during the parade day before the races.
Upon finishing the Liberty Supersprint race, Skaife took sixth-place on the leaderboard, and his results in the Manhattan Gate Race - which saw him finish in seventh - allowed him to keep that position.
By the time the Pursuit Race had concluded, Skaife managed to finish in fourth place; though this was seen as a fine effort on his part, Skaife had failed to earn enough points throughout the Masters to allow him to reach the top four, and was thus eliminated from the final race.
Skills[]
- Master Driver / Pilot: As is standard for anyone wishing to learn how to drive a hover car, Skaife has practiced and mastered piloting the aviation-type hover car, being able to perform aerial feats and maneuvers that in the present day are only known to pilots of fighter jets. His talents as a racer saw him perform well during the first part of the Masters Series races.
Equipment[]
- GM Factory Racing Hover Car: Skaife's personal hover car, provided by the General Motors Factory team, which he uses in the professional racing league.
- GMF Team Racing Uniform: Like all racers, Skaife has a racing uniform, comprised of a crash helmet, leather gloves and boots, and racing overalls, all coloured and patterned in the General Motors Factory Team's colours.
- Pit Tarantula: A standard piece of equipment for hover car racers, this machine aids in pit bay maintenance during races, which Skaife's mech chief managed during pit stops to keep their team's car in top working order by replacing worn or damaged parts, as well as refilling coolant.
Trivia[]
- Skaife is named after the (now-retired) Australian motor racing driver.
- The name of Skaife's car is never mentioned, though it is noted to be numbered 102.
