Lynda Fadel is a Sister belonging to the Order of the Serene Maidens and ally to Jack West Jr and his team.

History[]

Early History[]

During her life, Lynda Fadel chose to join the Order of the Serene Maidens, an order solely comprised of women who were dedicated to learning all about the Super-Ancient Beings and their trials leading up to the Omega Event. As she based herself at the Order's lodgings in Moscow's Novodevichy Convent, Lynda found little interest in the Order's religious and nunnery aspects.

In the late 1960's, Lynda was sent to try to recruit Mae Merriweather, an Australian teacher who was looking into proving the existence of the Four Legendary Kingdoms, into the Maidens' Order. Despite Lynda's efforts, however, Mae fell hopelessly in love with Jonathon "Wolf" West, whom Lynda thought looked like a potential "wife-beater", and declined to join the Order. Despite this, Lynda and Mae remained friends, with Lynda remaining in the picture long enough to hold Mae's one month-old son Jack West Jr, before losing touch.

Lynda remained with the Order of the Serene Maidens over the next 40 years, during which she learned what the Maidens knew about the time and date the Omega Event would occur, as well as information relevant to the Trial of the Mountains. She later became friends with her fellow Sister Tracy Smith, who later shared with Lynda that she had rules for handling the men who tried to come on to her before she left the Order.

After Wolf's death, which was never acknowledged to the outside world, Lynda was curious as to what had happened to her former friend's ex-husband, since he seemed to have simply vanished.

The Two Lost Mountains[]

On the evening of December 22, Lynda and Agnes were assigned to be the Maidens' designated survivors for the night, and as a result were spared death when Sphinx and his forces invaded the Convent at midnight, with the pair forced to listen in on a radio broadcast as their fellow Sisters were all executed while the Siren bells were taken. When Sphinx had one of the bells rung over Moscow to test it, Lynda and Agnes managed to avoid being sent into the siren sleep by donning protective headgear. The two remaining Maidens then proceeded to ensure they were not seen by Sphinx's people, watching from afar as they set up a trap for Jack and his team by using Lily as bait.

As chaos erupted in Red Square and Jack and Alby Calvin were forced to begin fleeing with their sleep-struck teammates, Lynda and Agnes moved into action by following the former as he was chased by car carriers carrying several bronzemen on their snowbikes. When Alby was cornered on the Moskva River, the Sisters approached and picked him, Lily and Stretch up on their snowbikes and set off over the frozen river, dodging missiles until the car carriers transporting the automatons were destroyed by the Black Raven. Lynda and Agnes then introduced themselves to Jack and explained the nature of their Order, admitting they were fans of his and Lily's. Lynda added that they could aid his team's mission with the intel the Maidens had gathered over the years, such as a way to awaken those rendered unconscious by the bells and the date of the Omega Event, and so were allowed to join Jack's team.

Upon arriving at the team's base at Hades's Estate, Lynda greeted Mae warmly, explaining to Jack how she had once tried to recruit his mother into the Maidens and then informed the team that the Omega Event would occur on the 29th of December. Lynda joined the team in their discussion of what must needed to happen during the Trial of the Mountains; noting that Sphinx's likely used the Rings of Command to control the automatons, the existence of goldmen, the nature of the Siren bells and the disputed translation of "bladed keys" for entering the Supreme Labyrinth. As the team decided to try to locate one of the iron mountains, Lynda was invited to accompany Mae and Zoe to the sleep-struck Rome to break into the Vatican Secret Archives see if they could find any information on the mountains or the location of the Orphean bell, with Lynda being keen to go to where no woman had ever been allowed within the Church's inner sanctums.

As they arrived over Rome, Lynda dismissed Rufus's concern of blasphemy and told Zoe that the journal they sought was written by Francis Xavier, before heading into the Archive with Mae. Finding the Xavier journal in Vault IX, Lynda and Mae discovered that the second mountain was beneath one of Mont Blanc's peaks and the third beneath Potala Palace, as well as finding a lead on the fourth mountain. They then overheard other intruders searching the Vatican's vaults, and as they looked to see who it was, Lynda and Mae saw the long-missing uraneus of the Great Sphinx of Giza being examined by the monks of the Order of the Omega, who soon noticed the women.

As Brother Enoch fumed at their presence, believing that they, as women, were desecrating their holy location, Lynda retorted that he was merely offended by the presence of their vaginas and dared the misogynist to do his worst before an explosion caused by St. Peter's Basilica being hit by a missile distracted all of them. Taken at gunpoint by a soldier working for General Garthon Rastor, Lynda, Mae and the monks were led to Rastor, who after killing the monks prepared to kill Lynda too since he didn't have any need for her. While Zoe and Rufus in the Black Raven arrived to rescue them, they were forced to leave Mae and Agnes behind when Rastor's V-88 Condor arrived.

When Jack's team began reporting in, Lynda mentioned Agnes and Mae getting left to Rastor's mercy, with Lynda being concerned for Agnes since she would be of little value to the General, unlike Mae, and well as what their team had learned from the Archive. When Alby asked Lynda if she knew anything about the Emperor's Route of the Supreme Labyrinth, she explained how it was the shortest path through the ancient maze intended for the unchallenged King of Kings. As Jack decided to send Lynda's group to Potala Palace so that they could have a chance to perform the Fall there, a worldwide transmission from Sphinx showed the Palace and the mountain beneath it being destroyed, scuppering that plan.

Instead, the team reunited outside Dijon, and began discussing plans to find one of the two lost mountains. Lynda shared a note from Xavier's journal containing a clue to the fourth mountain, explaining to Pooh Bear how the Sword of Saint Michel was only a ley line which potentially pointed to the mountain. When Jack suggested turning this metaphorical blade downward, Lynda pointed out the possibility that this made the Dome of the Rock on Jerusalem's Temple Mount the fourth mountain, which was soon confirmed by a news report of Rastor's V-88 being in the Israeli city. Lynda then reported a lead on Tracy's location since they needed her expertise on the Orphean bell, and so headed off with Zoe to locate the doctor.

After finding Tracy in Aleppo and convincing her to help, Lynda accompanied the group to Jersusalem to help rescue Jack, Pooh Bear and Easton from Jaeger Zwei and his bronzemen, with Lynda driving their escape van away to safety.

Lynda accompanied the team to Cairo so that Jack, Lily and Zoe could perform the Fall at the fifth iron mountain beneath the Great Sphinx. As she remained onboard the team's Super Galaxy, Lynda managed to put together several clues that led her to discover the Supreme Labyrinth's location in the Sinai Desert, and reported this to the team when they got back. As the team began preparations to break through Sphinx's defences at the Labyrinth's gates, Jack tasked Lynda, Tracy, Pooh Bear and Stretch with finding out what the Four Legendary Kingdoms were planning for after the Omega Event.

The One Impossible Labyrinth[]

To begin their mission to discover the Four Kingdoms' plans, Lynda, Tracy, Pooh Bear and Stretch made their way to a U.S. base in Bavaria, where they began working to intercept communications between the shadow royals. Eventually, Lynda and the rest learned that their enemies were enacting a refuge plan called the Storm Cellar Protocol, in which royal families given approval by Sphinx's underlings were to head to one of three shelters to wait out the chaos occurring because of the Omega Event; Lynda expressed distaste that the rich and powerful were more concerned with losing their status and money even as the world around them was falling into chaos. When Pooh Bear asked about the man in charge of the affair, Sir John Marren, Lynda shared what she knew about the royal banker, and soon waited with Tracy as Pooh Bear and Stretch kidnapped him to get more information.

As the team began heading to Marseille by road in a police van to throw off any pursuers, Lynda listened as Marren disclosed the nature of Sphinx's for the majority of the world's population following the Omega Event, calling Marren and the others monsters upon hearing that some would to be put to work as a slave labour force.

Once they had acquired a new plane and set course to Washington, D.C., the team prepared to wait out the journey, and during the journey Lynda and Stretch were surprised as they found Pooh Bear and Tracy deep in conversation, both amused and glad to see them getting along so well. Lynda was particularly surprised since she knew of Tracy's proclivities regarding men, and as Stretch assured her that his friend was the last true gentleman on Earth and indeed single, Lynda sighed and noted that it would be a shame if the world ended before something more could grow between the two. Their discussion was rudely interrupted as their plane was remotely hacked and their course changed, as Marren had managed to tip off his friends to their whereabouts.

As they neared their new destination at the Raven Rock base - where some of the Four Kingdoms were sheltering - Lynda and the others began preparing a plan to turn the tables on their enemies. After they had landed and sent Marren out, Lynda marveled at Stretch's prediction about Marren and the Four Kingdoms' actions in bringing them to Raven Rock, though Stretch wryly remarked to Lynda that he'd hoped he'd be wrong. Once Pooh Bear detonated some explosives and destroyed the plane, catching the Golden Knight and Delta commandos off-guard, the quartet quickly leapt into action, with Lynda assisting in the brief fire-fight by shooting at the Delta commandos. Soon Lynda and the others had acquired the master list of the royal families and rung a Siren bell inside the base to send royals within into the siren sleep. They were later contacted by the rest of the team, learning that Jack had successfully thwarted the Omega Event.

As the world got back to normal in the aftermath of the events of the trials and Sphinx's actions, the world's governments began investigating and arresting the members of the Four Kingdoms, along with the organisations that served them such as the Catholic Church. As a special commission was launched to determine their culpability, Jack suggested that Lynda be the one to lead the commission's investigation. Lynda would help to purge the guilty members of the Church from the organisation, and also made the case that despite the actions of its former leaders, the Church still had a lot to offer the world such as the charity and aid it had long provided, in addition to the history and artefacts the Church's leaders had kept hidden away for millennia.
