Seven Ancient Wonders[]
The Louvre Museum was built out of the Louvre Palace, originally built as a fortress in the late 12th to 13th century.
In 1863, the French archaeologist Charles Champoiseau found the Nike statue of the Statue of Zeus Ancient Wonder, but, unaware of what it really was, Champoiseau had it named the Winged Victory of Samothrace and then transported to the Louvre for examination. The Winged Victory would later be displayed in the Louvre's Denon wing.
In the course of his research into the resting places of the Pieces of the Golden Capstone, Mustapha Zaeed realised the truth about the Louvre' Winged Victory statue, and may have been preparing a team to break into the Louvre to steal it before he was captured by American forces.
After failing to understand the clue hidden in the Callimachus text for the Statue of Zeus Piece of the Capstone, the Coalition of Minnows team liberated Zaeed for help. Zaeed revealed the Winged Victory's true nature, and so the team began making preparations to retrieve the Piece from the Louvre.
Jack West Jr and Big Ears entered the Louvre with Lily to make themselves look less suspicious, and soon disguised themselves in workers overalls before they moved to the Winged Victory of Samothrace statue. Once they hid the statue behind a maintenance screen, Big Ears kept tourists away with his intimidating glares while Jack broke the Capstone Piece out of the statue's pedestal.
Once they had it, Jack, Big Ears and Lily fled out of a second story window onto a double-decker bus Stretch had stolen, before making their escape through the streets of Paris.
