Kamiko Ideki, nicknamed Kamikaze, is a professional hover car racer belonging to the Yamaha Racing team.

History[]

Hover Car Racer[]

Under unknown circumstances, Kamiko Ideki joined the hover car racing team of Yamaha Racing, quickly becoming a racer in the professional circuit with a reputation for being unpredictable during racers, earning the nickname Kamikaze.

Prior to the Italian Run, Ideki took part in the pole positioning shootout, in which he had to complete the time-trial course as quickly as possible to determine his starting position for the race itself. Ultimately, Ideki earned the seventh-fastest result of the participating racers.

During the Italian Run itself, as the leading pack of racers were weaving their way through the Alps, Ideki was overtaken by Xavier Xonora, putting him in ninth place. Later in the race, as they approached Venice II, Ideki was in 8th place behind Jason Chaser. After seeing Jason overtake Etienne Trouveau, Ideki attempted to take advantage of the opportunity to try to pass the French racer as well. Trouveau refused to give any leeway, and the pair fought up until the final turn to the finish line, at which point Trouveau cut off the nosewing of Ideki's car.

Though he lost control, Ideki recklessly attempted to finish the race rather than land in a safety dead zone, however he didn't have enough altitude. Furthermore, his car was headed directly for the float wreck of the Argonaut II, which Ideki realised almost too late, and he and his navigator narrowly managed to eject before impact.

Later that year, Ideki took part in the New York Masters, first putting in an appearance during the parade day before the races. During Lap 17 of the Liberty Supersprint race, Ideki fell victim to Liberty's elbow; with his magneto drives already worn down, Ideki's attempt to correct his wide turn blew out the drives, causing him to flip and careen towards the grandstands. Though he was caught in the magnetic dead zone before collision, Ideki was eliminated from the race.

Skills[]

  • Master Driver / Pilot: As is standard for anyone wishing to learn how to drive a hover car, Ideki has practiced and mastered piloting the aviation-type hover car, being able to perform aerial feats and maneuvers that in the present day are only known to pilots of fighter jets. Though he has enough talent to be able to participate in the professional league of racing, Ideki is more well known for his unpredictable tactics and maneuvers.

Equipment[]

  • Yamaha Racing Hover Cars: Ideki's personal hover car, which were provided to him by the Yamaha Racing team, which he uses in the professional racing league. The first, which he raced during the Italian Run, was blown to pieces when it crashed into the Argonaut II's wreckage after he lost control of it due to Trouveau sheering off the car's nosewing. A second car was used by Ideki during the Liberty Supersprint, though he blew out the car's magneto drives and ended up in a magnetic dead zone.
  • Yamaha Team Racing Uniform: Like all racers, Idekihas a racing uniform, comprised of a crash helmet, leather gloves and boots, and racing overalls, all coloured and patterned in the Yamaha Racing Team's colours.
  • Pit Tarantula: A standard piece of equipment for hover car racers, this machine aids in pit bay maintenance during races, which Ideki's mech chief managed during pit stops to keep their team's car in top working order by replacing worn or damaged parts, as well as refilling coolant.

Trivia[]

  • The name of Ideki's cars are never mentioned, though it is noted to be numbered 11.
