Jaeger Zwei is the code-name of one of the Knights of the Golden Eight.

History[]

Early History[]

Under unknown circumstances, the man who would become Jaeger Zwei of the Knights of the Golden Eight, joined the ancient order of assassins, being trained under the Knight who previously used the title at Aragon Castle, and upon his mentor's death assumed the title and became the Knights' second-in-command.

Zwei likely took part in the Knights' mission to go after Jack West Jr, Lily West and Alby Calvin on Dion DeSaxe's behalf, and later joined Sphinx's forces as he usurped the Four Kingdoms.

The Two Lost Mountains[]

In the weeks following the conclusion of the Trial of the Cities, Jaeger Zwei and the rest of the Golden Knights assisted Sphinx as he began consolidating his newly-acquired resources from the Four Kingdoms and prepared for the Trial of the Mountains.

Zwei was among among Sphinx's retinue as they invaded the Novodevichy Convent to acquire the Siren bells, and remained in Moscow to lead an ambush on Jack and his people when they arrived to rescue Lily. Zwei and Jaeger Acht waited from their watchtower on the Kremlin until they spotted a figure in gull wings swoop in and land before Lily. Though he could not see their face, Zwei assumed that it was Jack and reported in to Jaeger Eins, who gave him the go-ahead to put him to sleep. Using a Chinook drone carrying a Siren bell, Zwei remotely raised the chopper and had it rock the bell, sending Lily and her would-be-rescuer into the siren sleep while the Knights were protected by their protective earphones.

Zwei then sent Acht to secure the bodies so that they could bring them to Sphinx and Eins, and watched through his binoculars as his comrade headed to the Cathedral. However, after seeing Acht get knocked out by a new arrival, Zwei saw that it was Jack himself and realised he'd misidentified the earlier figure. Acting quickly, Zwei started up the Chinook drone to ring the Siren bell again (though Aloysius Knight gave Jack his protective helmet to keep the Australian conscious) and ordered his squires to move in on the Square with the trucks carrying bronzemen. From his position, Zwei used his Ring of Command to control the automatons from afar as they pursued Jack's team, but ultimately lost them and several bronzemen.

Later, as part of Sphinx's plans, Zwei took one of the Siren bells to Jerusalem and rang it over the Israeli city to send people into the siren sleep once Eins gave the order. Once his task was completed, Zwei prepared to depart, but noticed the huge forces of General Garthon Rastor arrive in the city and begin preparing the fourth iron mountain beneath the Temple Mount for the Fall. Noting that Rastor's men were all wearing protective headphones, Zwei knew that he couldn't use the bell on them and risked losing it to them if he tried, and instead observed as Rastor performed the Fall.

Shortly after Rastor left, Zwei saw Jack arrive, and delighted at the chance to take revenge for failing to deal with him in Moscow. As soon as he could, Zwei flew his Chinook up over the city and rang the bell before they could react, succeeding in putting Jack, Easton and Pooh Bear into the siren sleep. Landing near the sleepers, Zwei approached Jack with the intention of killing him, and though he was momentarily caught off-guard as Jack's poodle Roxy moved in front of her master to protect him, Zwei decided to shoot the dog as well. Before he could close enough, however, more members of Jack's team arrived and started felling Zwei's bronzemen with specialised bullets, forcing the Golden Knight to take cover and being unable to do anything but watch furiously as they fled.

Zwei next joined Sphinx's defence forces at the gates to the Supreme Labyrinth, presumably still using his Ring of Command to try to marshal the automatons to defend the gates from Rastor. When Jack's team arrived as well, Zwei took a troop truck of bronzemen and moved to block the Wests' path to the final gate. Unfortunately, another truck driven by Knight got between Zwei and his targets, delaying him from any further attempts to get to Jack and the others before they made it into the ancient maze.

The One Impossible Labyrinth[]

As the battle wound down, Zwei and a few men managed to surround Alby and Knight after they had ejected from the downed Black Raven. Recalling that Eins wanted Alby and decided to take him captive, and though he initially considered killing Knight, Zwei recognised him as the one who had attacked their base and decided to bring him to Eins as well.

Zwei brought his prisoners to the temporary airfield on the coast of the Red Sea near the Red Horizon Star-4 oil rig where Sphinx's forces were gathering as the Labyrinth's City-Maze was rising above the surface. Eventually, Zwei made his way over to the rig itself, apparently while bringing Alby and Knight to Eins.

When General Garthon Rastor's RPG broke the seawall of the City-Maze, Zwei managed to keep a safe grip on the oil rig as it became suspended over the flooding section of the Labyrinth. After seeing Eins get felled by Alby, Zwei prepared to ambush him and Knight from above, only for a Russian chopper flown by Rufus and Sky Monster to rise up and open fire on the Golden Knight, with Zwei being torn apart by the gunfire.

Skills[]

  • Expert Combatant: As a member of the Knights of the Golden Eight, Jaeger Zwei has likely been trained in several forms of hand-to-hand combat.
  • Expert Marksman: As an accomplished assassin, Zwei is a highly skilled and accurate marksman, capable of using a variety of different firearms.

Equipment[]

Weapons[]

  • MP-9 submachine pistol: As it seems to be the weapon of choice among the Knights, Zwei most likely often uses an MP-9 during assignments.

Vehicles[]

  • CH-47 Chinook: An American twin-engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter used for troop transport. Zwei first used an unpiloted drone Chinook in Moscow to ring the Siren bell twice in an attempt to put Jack and his people into the siren sleep. Zwei later took a regular Chinook to ring the bell over Jerusalem, which he also used to transport several bronzemen under his command.
  • Troop Truck: To Be Added.

Other Equipment[]

  • Siren Bell: To Be Added.
  • Ring of Command: One of the four lesser rings which controls a small number of the bronze and silver guardians, which Zwei used to control the bronzemen when attempting to ambush Jack's team in Moscow, and again when he was in Jerusalem. Zwei apparently still had the Ring on at the time of the Wests' attempt to get into the Supreme Labyrinth.
    • Bronze Guardians: The ancient bronze-coloured automatons which guard the important locales of the Super-Ancients' trials. While serving Sphinx, Zwei commanded them during the confrontation in Moscow, and later again in Jerusalem and at the gates to the Supreme Labyrinth.

Trivia[]

  • Though it was not explicitly stated, it can be assumed that Jaeger Zwei also appeared, albeit not mentioned directly, in all scenes involving the Knights of the Golden Eight in The Three Secret Cities.
