Jaeger Vier is the code-name of one of the Knights of the Golden Eight.
History[]
Early History[]
Under unknown circumstances, the man who would become Jaeger Vier of the Knights of the Golden Eight, joined the ancient order of assassins, being trained under the Knight who previously used the title at Aragon Castle, and upon his mentor's death assumed the title.
Vier likely took part in the Knights' mission to go after Jack West Jr, Lily West and Alby Calvin on Dion DeSaxe's behalf, and later joined Sphinx's forces as he usurped the Four Kingdoms.
The Two Lost Mountains[]
In the weeks following the conclusion of the Trial of the Cities, Jaeger Vier and the rest of the Golden Knights assisted Sphinx as he began consolidating his newly-acquired resources from the Four Kingdoms and prepared for the Trial of the Mountains.
Vier was presumably among among Sphinx's retinue as they invaded the Novodevichy Convent to acquire the Siren bells, and then was dispatched to the observatory at Aiguille du Midi. There, Vier began using an uplink to a lunar rover to remove an aluminised Kapton foil from an altar in order to allow Sphinx to perform the Fall at the first iron mountain when it was in alignment with Mont Saint-Michel. Though Vier had been prepared to replace the foil once Dion had performed his Fall, Jack destroyed the Falling Temple at the first mountain, and so Vier remained on standby while Dion and Jaeger Eins made their way to the second mountain beneath the Aiguille du Midi itself to try to perform the Fall there instead.
While Dion and Eins were waiting for a clearing pod to clean out the moon shaft and Vier remained at the observatory, the Order of the Omega assaulted the mountain to try and perform the Fall themselves. Vier soon encountered Romanian paratroopers trying to take the observatory, and Eins ordered Vier to defend the observatory until they could perform the Fall. By the time Dion had done so successfully, Vier had finished off his assailants, and then proceeded to cover the moon pedestal with the foil and destroy the uplink to the rover in order to prevent anyone else from doing a follow-up Fall at another mountain, and then abandoned the observatory.
Along with Eins, Vier presumably joined Sphinx's defence forces at the gates to the Supreme Labyrinth to try to keep anyone else from getting into the ancient maze, but failed as both General Rastor's forces and Jack and his team made it into the Labyrinth.
Skills[]
- Expert Combatant: As a member of the Knights of the Golden Eight, Jaeger Vier has likely been trained in several forms of hand-to-hand combat.
- Expert Marksman: As an accomplished assassin, Vier is a highly skilled and accurate marksman, capable of using a variety of different firearms.
Equipment[]
Weapons[]
- MP-9 submachine pistol: As it seems to be the weapon of choice among the Knights, Vier most likely often uses an MP-9 during assignments.
Trivia[]
- Though it was not explicitly stated, it can be assumed that the Jaeger Vier who appeared in The Two Lost Mountains also appeared, albeit not mentioned directly, in all scenes involving the Knights of the Golden Eight in The Three Secret Cities.
- Is is unknown what became of Vier following the events of The One Impossible Labyrinth; either he was captured in the subsequent roundup of the Four Kingdoms and their subordinates, or otherwise was the unidentified Golden Knight at Raven Rock who was killed by Stretch.
