Ivan is a mercenary working as part of Alexander Kessel's team to take down the SBX-1 interceptor facility.

Early History[]
Under unknown circumstances, Ivan became a mercenary and joined a team led by Alexander Kessel.
When the team was contracted by a Russian terrorist to help take down several U.S. cities with nukes, Kessel and the team began working on a six-year long plan to hijack the SBX-1 missile interceptor platform in the Pacific Ocean and allow the terrorists the chance to fire upon America. Eventually, Ivan - along with the rest of Kessel's team - were able to get onboard SBX01 under the guise on being janitors for the facility.
Interceptor[]
Once the hijacking began, Ivan presumably took part in executing the staff stationed onboard SBX-1 once they had been neutralised with nerve gas released through the air conditioning system while most of the rest of the mercenaries attempted to breach the control room, and managed to take Captain Lou Welsh captive in the process.
As Captain JJ Collins had sealed the blast doors into the command center, Kessel had Ivan bring Welsh to him, and held the Navy Captain against the door as Kessel tried to coerce Collins into opening the door to save his life. Ivan released his grip on Welsh as Kessel ultimately executed him once Collins refused to comply.
Ivan waited with Kessel as Kira and Nikolai used blowtorches to cut through the first of the blast doors, standing with them as the door was finally brought down. Ivan remained stationed in the main corridor while Kessel and the others, with the aid of Corporal Beaver Baker, took control of the command center from Collins and Corporal Rahul Shah and began broadcasting their intent to the people of America.
Soon, however, Ivan heard gunfire in the command center and moved to investigate, rounding the corner to find Kessel and Baker on the ground outside the command center and Collins standing over them. The moment she saw Ivan, Collins fired a burst of gunfire at him, forcing him to duck back for cover as she re-sealed the final blast door.
With the rest of their team dead, Ivan stood by quietly as Baker fretted to Kessel about their circumstances. When Kessel responded that this was merely a setback, Baker remarked pointedly on this to Ivan, who said nothing as Kessel reminded their associate that they had backup plans.
After Kessel was forced to activate SBX-1's scuttling protocol to sink the rig, Ivan and Baker watched from the blast door's window as Shah dropped out of the command center's lower hatch to head to the ballast area to slow the process. While Kessel told Ivan to take care of it and began to hand him his sidearm, Baker moved his arm in front of Ivan and insisted on doing the job himself, and so Ivan was left to watch Collins in the command center.
Collins eventually taped up the window to keep Kessel and Ivan looking in, and soon spoke to them via the intercom, daring them to continue their attempts to get inside since their partners would likely kill them for failing. Kessel had Ivan turn the intercom off and had him pass him a radio to find out how close Baker was to entering the command center from the lower hatch.
When Beaver reported he was inside but that Collins was on the roof, he let Kessel and Ivan into the command center, at which point the Russian terrorists fired their remaining 15 missiles. As Ivan watched the screens, Baker began preparing to set out to find and kill Collins, and he turned to Ivan and requested he give him his knife. Ivan quickly agreed and handed it over. Kessel then ordered Ivan to use the sulfuric acid they had brought with them on the controls for the interceptors, neutralising the ability to fire them.
Baker soon radioed to report that Collins was not in fact on the roof, leading the mercenaries to realise she might still be in the command center, hiding. As they moved to a fallen refrigerator, Ivan fired at the interior once Kessel opened it, though Collins was not there. The pair then split up to search for her, with Ivan beginning to investigate the hazmat suits on the far wall. After checking the first pair, Ivan moved to check the two in the next cabinet, but was distracted by Kessel calling him, the mercenary leader having believed he'd deduced Collins' hiding place. However, Collins was in fact in one of the hazmat suits Ivan had been about to investigate, and so he never saw her as Collins used a scalpel to slice into the back of his neck and kill him.

- Dagger: A standard combat knife which Ivan kept on his person, but handed over to Baker when he asked the mercenary for it before going after Collins.
- Sulfuric Acid: A tank of acid which Ivan kept in a pack during the mercenaries' attack, with the intention of using it to disable the launch controls for SBX-1's interceptors. After they entered the command center a second time, Ivan poured the acid over the launch controls.
