Igor Kotsky is a Russian scientist and accomplice to the Army of Thieves.
History[]
Early History[]
Igor Kotsky was one of several scientists who worked at the Soviet research facility on Ostrov Zmey (Dragon Island) during the Cold War. When the Soviet Union fell in 1991, the Dragon Island facility was shut down, and Kotsky was among many former workers who were set to look after the weapons that were made there in six-month shifts.
Over the next several years, Kotsky continued to monitor Dragon Island, eventually becoming one of the relief team chiefs. However, during his off-time, he accumulated a considerable amount of gambling debts.
One day, Kotsky was approached by the Army of Thieves leader, the Lord of Anarchy, and bribed into giving the Army access to Dragon Island so that they could utilise the Tesla device. Some time after Kotsky's crew began their shift, the invasion occurred. Exactly how this played out is unclear, though it could be that Kotsky shut down security cameras to keep the Army undetected long enough for them to breach Dragon Island.
Once the Army of Thieves took over the facility and began spewing the combustible gas into the atmosphere, Kotsky was tasked with priming the red uranium spheres used in the Tesla weapon at the top of the Main Tower.
Scarecrow and the Army of Thieves[]
Six weeks after the preparations for the Tesla weapon began, Kotsky was set to be relieved of watching over Dragon Island by a new crew headed by Vasily Ivanov. The Lord of Anarchy had Kotsky wait by the aircraft hanger when the relief crew arrived, so that the Army could ambush them and continue with their plan uninterrupted. Kotsky waved the relief crew over when they began disembarking their plane, allowing the men to be mowed down when they got close enough. However, Ivanov and another man managed to take off in their plane, and sent out a distress call before they were shot down.
Kotsky returned to the Main Tower to continue priming the red uranium spheres, which were nearly ready. As soon as the spheres were fully defrosted, however, Kotsky and the technicians helping him were warned that enemies had infiltrated the island and were coming after the spheres. Despite this warning, Shane Schofield reached the top of the Main Tower and killed the guards, taking the spheres from Kotsky. After Schofield secured himself in the elevator, he detonated the explosives he'd left at the base of the tower, causing it to collapse. While the other men were killed in the impact, Kotsky was thrown clear out a window into the concrete moat below, and he was last seen screaming as he fell to his death.
