Genghis Khan's Shield is a unique shield which has been decorated with images of the six Vertex entrances.
History[]
The Five Greatest Warriors[]
Some time after Genghis Khan's death, the Japanese Shogun Yoshitoki, unaware of this fact, sent a messenger to inform Genghis Khan of the developments of the Hokkaido Vertex and to offer a gift of a "Dragon's Egg" which was adorned with images of majestic landscapes depicting the entrances of the six Vertices. Genghis's son, Ogedei, had the Egg taken to his father's arsenal to be stored there, while also having one of his father's old pentagonal shields painted with images intricately copied from the Egg. Once the copied images were set, the shield was placed within Genghis's sarcophagus atop the former ruler's chest.
When the Coalition of Minnows were researching the locations of the remaining Pillars and Vertices, their research into the Five Greatest Warriors, particularly Genghis Khan, led Julius and Lachlan Adamson to learn of the Egg's existence. Felix Bonaventura and the CIEF figured this out at roughly the same time, and both groups set out to locate Genghis's lost arsenal.
Shortly after Wolf, Rapier and Bonaventura entered the arsenal and found the Egg, Tank and the Japanese Blood Brotherhood ambushed them, and Tank casually proceeded to destroy the Egg in order to make finding the remaining Vertices more difficult.
After Wolf's group left, Jack West Jr, Zoe Kissane and Lily West managed to find Genghis's sarcophagus, and upon opening it found the shield with the images copied from the Egg, and opted to take it instead.
When they corresponded with Pooh Bear, Stretch and the twins in England, Jack sent them photos of the shield and the individual images of each Vertex entrance.
The team would later refer back to the images of the entrances from the shield as they went after the third, fourth and fifth Vertices. The shield's image of the sixth Vertex helped Jack to cement his suspicions that it was located on Easter Island.
Attributes[]
The shield itself has no special qualities, but the intricate images of the Vertex entrances painted on it make it extremely valuable to anyone seeking the Vertices.
