Dwayne Lewicki is a professional hover car racer belonging to the United States Air Force Racing team.
History[]
Early History[]
Under unknown circumstances, Dwayne Lewicki joined the hover car racing team of the United States Air Force, quickly becoming a proficient racer in the professional circuit, particularly when it came to gate races since his navigator was experienced in using simulation programs to practise plotting optimal race plans. It is unclear if - since the racing team was a sub-division of the Air Force - Lewicki also partook in military exercises involving the USAF, or if his career was based solely in hover car racing.
Hover Car Racer[]
Prior to the Italian Run, Lewicki took part in the pole positioning shootout, in which he had to complete the time-trial course as quickly as possible to determine his starting position for the race itself. Ultimately, Lewicki earned the third-fastest result of the participating racers.
During the Italian Run itself, as the leading pack of racers were weaving their way through the Alps, Lewicki attempted to overtake Fabian as they prepared to enter a narrow tunnel section. Fabian gave Lewicki no ground, however, and then used the sharp nose-blades of the Marseilles Falcon to sheer through the left-side of the nosewing of Lewicki's own car, causing the USAF driver to lose control and crash into the arched entry to the tunnel. Though he was fortunately not injured, Lewicki was unable to continue racing, and thus was eliminated from the Italian Run.
Later that year, Lewicki took part in the New York Masters, first putting in an appearance during the parade day before the races, receiving many cheers from the largely American-comprised crowds.
Upon finishing the Liberty Supersprint race, Lewicki took fifth-place on the leaderboard.
Prior to the Manhattan Gate Race, most commentators saw Lewicki and Angus Carver as the favourites to take the lead in the gate race due to their notable skills in those sorts of races, and once the race began, Lewicki was among the majority of racers who set off for the northern sector of the course. However, an hour into the race, it was revealed that Jason Chaser and Fabian were in the lead instead (thanks to the skills of Jason's brother and navigator, the Bug, whereas Fabian was merely tailing them), putting Lewicki in fourth place.
When the time came to return to the finish line, Lewicki successfully returned before any penalty for lateness could deduct any points from him. Thanks to Fabian and Etienne Trouveau causing him to crash, Jason was forced to push his car over the finish line to finish, albeit after having several points deducted for lateness, which ultimately made Lewicki, having returned with the second-highest number of points, the second-placed racer, putting him into fourth place on the leaderboard for the New York Masters.
Not long into the Pursuit Race, during the second lap, the ion waterfalls which enforced the 15-second rule activated at the Williamsburg Bridge, and the last-placed Lewicki failed to get through before his car was coated and lost power, sending him into a dead-zone. Lewicki was thus eliminated from the race and the New York Masters.
Skills[]
- Master Driver / Pilot: As is standard for anyone wishing to learn how to drive a hover car, Lewicki has practiced and mastered piloting the aviation-type hover car. Thanks to his training being provided by the racing team of the United States Air Force, Lewicki is an extremely talented driver, easily able to perform aerial feats and maneuvers that in the present day are only known to pilots of fighter jets. His talents as a racer allowed him a third-place finish in the Italian Run, and victory in the Manhattan Gate Race during the Masters Series races.
Equipment[]
- USAF Racing Hover Car: Lewicki's personal hover car, provided by the USAF Racing team, which he uses in the professional racing league.
- Team USAF Racing Uniform: Like all racers, Lewickihas a racing uniform, comprised of a crash helmet, leather gloves and boots, and racing overalls, all coloured and patterned in the USAF Racing Team's colours.
- Pit Tarantula: A standard piece of equipment for hover car racers, this machine aids in pit bay maintenance during races, which Lewicki's mech chief managed during pit stops to keep their team's car in top working order by replacing worn or damaged parts, as well as refilling coolant.
Trivia[]
- The name of Lewicki's car is never mentioned, though it is noted to be numbered 23.
